JUNON, DAPHNE class attack submarine, is the eight french warship named. She was laid on CHERBOURG, on 1961 november the 30th. Lauched on 1964 may 11th, she joined the service on 1966 februar 14th. During her long career, she sailed 340 000 nautic miles, 16 earth circle at 4nq speed. She spended 8 years 7 months dived. 19 Co's. |

The first ship named JUNON was a 780 tons frigate of the royal French navy. Seriously damaged during Majorque capture in 1756, she was scrapped one year after. the second JUNON was a 32 guns armed frigate, this ship was wrecked on St Vincent coast in 1780. The third JUNON, lauched in 1782 was captured by British in 1799 and took the name "Princess Charlotte". During a battle off the Saintes Islands, the forth JUNON, an other frigate, sank. In 1814, the frigate AMELIE took the name JUNON. The sixth JUNON is a mix frigate lauch in 1861 and scrapped eight years later. Coastal submarine from the class MINERVE the seventh JUNON served during World war two in free french forces. She was distinghuised by two war medals (citation à l'ordre de l'Armée et à l'ordre du Corps) and the famous "Croix de Guerre 1938-1945. she was retired in 1953. |
